This past weekend marked the 6th annual Kicks for Kids charity shoe drive presented by Sneaker Suite, adidas and Shoe City.
The grand re-opening in-store event took place at the newly remodeled Shoe City at Mondawmin Mall in Baltimore, which hosted a number of fans and customers.
The special guest of the day was hip-hop legend Philadelphia Freeway (Roc-a-Fella) alongside hometown pro bike rider Chino (MMG). These two gentleman have had a huge influence throughout the DMV area and drew out a very vibrant crowd. Other notable guests were AJ and Lil Blac of 92Q, and DJ Lil Mic.
Both Chino & Freeway shared a number of laughs, autographs and photos with tons of kids whom came out to see the duo. Chino showed his brand new bike to fans and also held his first of many #BikeLifeHoliday raffles. From now through Christmas Eve, he is giving away two kids bikes every day.
Kicks for Kids continues to be one of the leading charity events of the year for Shoe City. This year’s program supports the Sasha Bruce Youth work, Safe Shores DC Children’s Advocacy Center, House of Ruth, Bea Gaddy Women’s & Children’s Shelter and the JR. Board of Administration nonprofit organizations.
The children helped by these organizations will receive some holiday cheer in the form of new sneakers for Christmas.
